Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking an OpenShift Senior Engineer to lead the OpenShift and Private Cloud platform strategy across squads in a hybrid work model. The role focuses on resilience, security, and regulatory compliance while delivering cloud-native improvements that accelerate application teams.

You will set technical direction, drive architectural standards, and coach engineers, balancing enterprise controls with modern practices across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, building and operating OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms at scale.
• Deep knowledge of platform internals, lifecycle management, networking, storage, security controls and integration patterns.
• Proven track record setting architectural direction and engineering standards across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and architectural guardrails for OpenShift and supporting hybrid cloud services.
• Lead high-impact design decisions covering resilience, security, scalability, compliance and sustainability.
• Own complex multi-squad initiatives, managing dependencies and safe implementation.
• Coach senior engineers in system design and architectural thinking.
• Represent the platform in governance, design reviews and vendor engagements.
