Job summary

GIS MIC is seeking a Site Welding Engineer to support welding quality assurance and control on a major construction project. You will supervise on-site welding activities, review procedures and welder certifications, and ensure compliance with project standards and international codes.

The role requires a degree in engineering, knowledge of NDT methods, and familiarity with QMS processes. ISO 9001 and welding code knowledge are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Welding Inspector certification preferred.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification advantageous.
• Knowledge of international welding codes and standards.
• Familiarity with NDT methods and quality control processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise welding activities on site.
• Review welding procedures, qualification records, and welder certifications.
• Ensure compliance with project quality requirements and applicable standards.
• Participate in inspections, testing, and welding audits.
• Monitor welding performance and track repair rates.
• Review ITPs and quality documentation.
• Verify material compliance and manage non-conformance issues.
• Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
• Support quality reporting and documentation activities.
• Assist in the preparation and close-out of quality dossiers and records.
• Promote continuous improvement and quality awareness across the project team.
