Job summary

JDR Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Transport Planner to join our regional distribution site in the UK. The role is onsite with regular hours and requires experience in transport/admin/compliance. You will manage driver workloads, plan routes, and ensure vehicle and paperwork compliance.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager and Transport Compliance Officer to maintain service levels and data accuracy. This is a hands-on role in a busy transport office environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning is required.
• Experience with vehicle maintenance/compliance monitoring.
• Strong keyboard and data entry skills.
• Organised administration with deadline discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Ability to work onsite and manage drivers.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily routes for deliveries.
• Liaise with drivers regarding deliveries.
• Discuss delivery issues and product issues with drivers.
• Act as interface between drivers and customer services.
• Check and process delivery paperwork; update systems.
• Record dates for invoicing.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance bookings.
• Update operations manager regularly.
• Ensure vehicle issues are logged and tracked.
• Support the compliance coordinator and team.
• Coordinate driver coverage and record keeping.
