Job summary

Matchtech in Leicestershire is seeking a hands-on Test Support Engineer for a permanent, on-site role to support the safe, reliable operation of laboratories and test rigs.

You will be the first point of response for test-rig and lab equipment issues, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, repairing where possible, and assisting with the build and upgrades of test rigs while performing routine checks and calibration.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining equipment in a test or production environment, including electro-mechanical assemblies and test rigs.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics and layouts.
• Familiarity with National Instruments control systems is a plus.
• Clear communication and pragmatic problem-solving across teams.

Responsibilities

• Reacting to test rig / lab process issues and diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults.
• Repairing and resolving issues where possible, and escalating complex problems appropriately.
• Supporting the build of new test rigs and modifications / upgrades to existing equipment.
• Completing routine equipment checks, calibration activity and audits.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on rigs and supporting equipment.
• Helping ensure the lab environment remains safe, compliant and operationally effective.
