Computacenter AG & Co. oHG is seeking an experienced Shift Engineer to join our team in Hatfield. You will perform electrical maintenance on material handling equipment and diagnose PLC faults, ensuring timely fault resolution and planned maintenance.

The role requires on-site presence five days a week and strong safety awareness. The ideal candidate has a solid electrical background, experience with PLCs, and the ability to work in a production environment with high standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified and time-served technician with strong electrical background.
• Experience in fault finding and rectification in a demanding production environment.
• Previous experience with PLCs is advantageous.
• Experience in maintaining automated materials handling equipment or similar.

Responsabilités

• Electrical maintenance of material handling equipment.
• PLC and three-phase fault finding and testing.
• Respond promptly to machine faults and carry out planned maintenance on a scheduled basis.
• Ensure regular maintenance of machinery and equipment to the highest standards.
• Actively identify and rectify defects in a timely manner.
• Support with facilities when required.
• Complete time sheets, task sheets, and manage stock control.
• Order consumables and manage administrative tasks.

Life on the team

We are seeking an experienced Shift Engineer to join our dedicated team at Computacenter. In this role, you will work to ensure that the highest standards in maintenance are consistently achieved. As part of the MHE department, you will be involved in maintaining and servicing a range of systems and effective recovery/rectification of any faults/planned maintenance on the MHE equipment.

The successful applicant will be required to be onsite in our head office(Hatfield) 5 days a week, working shift patterns.

Shift patterns are;- 06:00am-14:00pm AND 14:00pm-22:00pm

What You'll Do

• Electrical maintenance of material handling equipment
• PLC and three-phase fault finding and testing
• Respond promptly to machine faults and carry out planned maintenance on a scheduled basis

What You'll Need

• Self-motivated and flexible with excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to work at heights
• Astute practical awareness of Health and Safety principles
• Health & Safety qualification or training in the use of high bay racking access equipment and controlled descent rescue procedures
• City & Guilds/BTEC in Electrical Engineering
• Basic mechanical skills
• Working knowledge of automated materials handling equipment
