Job summary

Linde Material Handling is seeking a Resident Engineer to be stationed at customer sites in the UK, performing hands-on diagnostics and repairs on forklift trucks and related equipment. You will lead preventative maintenance tasks and ensure peak fleet performance while building strong customer relationships.

The role requires a customer-focused mindset, the ability to work autonomously within a team, and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience as vehicle technicians or mechanical engineers, especially forklift technicians or plant technicians.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
• Comfortable using IT to record information and place orders.
• Willingness to train and develop through technical grading and long-term learning.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues on Linde forklifts and other material handling equipment at customer sites.
• Carry out preventative maintenance to keep fleets operating at peak efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Work autonomously and as part of a team, following safety and quality standards.
