Job summary

United Utilities is seeking a proactive Network Maintainer Controller to join the Wastewater Network team at Rochdale. The role involves first-call operational response and hands-on maintenance across wastewater-powered assets, ensuring safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

You'll work 37 hours per week on a full-time pattern with a base salary of £40,232 plus shift allowance. The company offers opportunities for training and progression within a leading North West utility.

Qualifications

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical maintenance and operation.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and relationship-building across teams.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-call response to operational incidents and asset failures.
  • Carry out basic electrical and mechanical maintenance on assets.
  • Investigate faults and identify long-term solutions.
  • Deliver planned, reactive and proactive maintenance activities.
  • Record maintenance data accurately in company systems.
  • Review alarm data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors and customers.
  • Register and maintain assets in asset management systems.
  • Support pollution and flooding prevention initiatives.
  • Issue permits to work and access certificates for contractors.
