Job summary

A leading company in grid-scale battery storage and high voltage projects is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee site operations and subcontractors. This role involves ensuring health and safety compliance, managing project delivery in line with contractual obligations, and maintaining client relationships. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in construction management, particularly in HV and BESS projects, and strong command of NEC3 and FIDIC contracts.

• Strong knowledge of NEC3, FIDIC, or similar construction contracts.
• Confident managing subcontractors and leading multidisciplinary site teams.

? Location: Durham - onsite everyday

This is a key delivery role, responsible for managing subcontractors, coordinating internal and external teams, and ensuring safe, timely and commercially sound project execution.

? Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mobilisation, on-site construction, and project handover for grid-connected energy projects
• Manage subcontractors and site teams to deliver in line with NEC3/FIDIC contracts
• Ensure health & safety, quality, and compliance across all phases
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
• Oversee site progress and reporting aligned with project governance and commercial goals
• Support internal teams to ensure designs, budgets and programmes are maintained

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven track record in construction management for HV, BESS or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of NEC3, FIDIC or similar construction contracts
• Confident managing subcontractors and leading multi-disciplinary site teams
• Commercial awareness and experience navigating contractual obligations
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Knowledge of CDM and relevant health & safety legislation
