A leading company in the energy sector is seeking a Construction Manager for grid-scale Battery Storage (BESS) and High Voltage (HV) projects in the Durham area. The role involves managing subcontractors and ensuring compliance with NEC3/FIDIC contracts while leading on-site construction and overseeing project delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in construction management for HV, BESS or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3, FIDIC or similar construction contracts.
• Confident managing subcontractors and leading multi-disciplinary site teams.

This is a key delivery role, responsible for managing subcontractors, coordinating internal and external teams, and ensuring safe, timely and commercially sound project execution.

? Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mobilisation, on-site construction, and project handover for grid-connected energy projects
• Manage subcontractors and site teams to deliver in line with NEC3/FIDIC contracts
• Ensure health & safety, quality, and compliance across all phases
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
• Oversee site progress and reporting aligned with project governance and commercial goals
• Support internal teams to ensure designs, budgets and programmes are maintained

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven track record in construction management for HV, BESS or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of NEC3, FIDIC or similar construction contracts
• Confident managing subcontractors and leading multi-disciplinary site teams
• Commercial awareness and experience navigating contractual obligations
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Knowledge of CDM and relevant health & safety legislation
