Job summary

CBRE, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for our Ware site in Hertfordshire on a contract basis. The role is onsite with approximately 4–5 hours per day, offering flexibility around working hours and immediate start.

You will coordinate maintenance with CBRE, carry out onsite checks, and ensure facilities issues are resolved efficiently. The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance or facilities experience, strong communication skills, and a practical approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities administration or building maintenance
• Experience coordinating maintenance issues and contractors
• Strong communication skills over phone and email
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience using Google Workspace would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Liaising with CBRE to arrange maintenance callouts and site visits
• Communicating regularly with CBRE via email and telephone
• Conducting onsite checks to identify and assess maintenance issues
• Following up on outstanding maintenance and facilities requirements
• Coordinating and arranging the collection of waste
• Supporting the general upkeep and smooth operation of the site
• Carrying out general facilities and building maintenance duties as required
• Undertaking some manual handling and heavy lifting when required
• Working independently and managing day-to-day maintenance priorities
