Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an Approved Electrician for the HS2 project at Old Oak Common, London. You will install, inspect and maintain temporary electrical systems on site, work with site teams and subcontractors, and help uphold our Zero Harm safety standards.

Role requires flexible hours including nights/weekends; ECS card, UK driving licence, and proven experience with temporary installations. You will contribute to safety initiatives and quality records across the project.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Electrician.
• Current ECS Card.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience working with temporary electrical installations.
• Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including nights and weekends when required.
• Experience supervising or coordinating direct labour and subcontractors.
• Ability to deliver engaging toolbox talks and promote safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Installing, inspecting and maintaining temporary electrical systems on site.
• Supporting the safe and efficient delivery of temporary site services.
• Identifying hazards and implementing appropriate controls.
• Ensuring plant, tools and equipment are safe and fit for use.
• Contributing to toolbox talks, task briefings and safety initiatives.
• Monitoring workmanship and supporting a Right First Time culture.
• Assisting with quality assurance activities and project documentation.
• Coordinating with operational and engineering teams to meet programme requirements.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with project standards.
• Promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible working practices.
