Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an Approved Electrician for the HS2 project at Old Oak Common, London. You will install, inspect and maintain temporary electrical systems on site, work with site teams and subcontractors, and help uphold our Zero Harm safety standards.

Role requires flexible hours including nights/weekends; ECS card, UK driving licence, and proven experience with temporary installations. You will contribute to safety initiatives and quality records across the project.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Electrician.
• Current ECS Card.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience working with temporary electrical installations.
• Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including nights and weekends when required.
• Experience supervising or coordinating direct labour and subcontractors.
• Ability to deliver engaging toolbox talks and promote safe systems of work.

At Balfour Beatty, we're delivering some of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure schemes. As part of the HS2 programme, Old Oak Common Station will become one of the country's largest and most important transport hubs.

We are looking for an Approved Electrician to join our team and support the delivery of the Temporary Site Services (TSS) package on this landmark project.

What you'll be doing

As an Approved Electrician, you'll play a key role in ensuring temporary electrical installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to support project delivery while maintaining our commitment to Zero Harm.

Who we're looking for

Essential:

• Fully qualified Electrician
• Current ECS Card
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience working with temporary electrical installations
• Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation

Desirable:

• Experience working on major construction or infrastructure projects
• Experience delivering high-quality electrical installations in complex environments
• Strong problem-solving and risk assessment skills
• Experience managing works packages from start to completion
• Desire to progress towards becoming an Appointed Person (AP)
