Job summary

Merlin Entertainments is recruiting a Construction Safety Manager at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Surrey, to lead day-to-day safety management of contractor work across the Resort as we prepare to open new experiences in 2027. You will review RAMS, oversee permits, coordinate onboarding, and ensure compliant safe practices while supporting project delivery.

The role demands strong CDM knowledge, stakeholder collaboration, and a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and Client/Principal Contractor duties.
• Proven experience managing contractors from a client-side perspective.
• Experience reviewing RAMS and administering Permit to Work systems.
• Ability to influence contractor behaviours and promote a safety culture.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and projects in complex environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of contractors across the Resort.
• Review and approve RAMS, issue and manage Permits to Work.
• Coordinate contractor onboarding, inductions and safety documentation.
• Work with project managers to minimise disruption and maintain safety.
• Inspect active work areas, monitor compliance and address incidents.
• Collaborate with Principal Contractors and operational teams on interfaces.
