Job summary

Merlin Properties is seeking a Construction Safety Manager at Chessington World of Adventures Resort to lead safety across multi-site construction and operational activities. This fixed-term role focuses on maintaining high safety standards while projects progress, working with contractors, project teams, and Resort operations to minimize disruption and protect guests and staff.

You will review RAMS, manage contractor onboarding and permits to work, and ensure site processes are followed.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and responsibilities of Clients and Principal Contractors.
• Proven experience reviewing RAMS and administering Permit to Work systems.
• Experience managing contractors from a client-side perspective.
• Ability to influence contractor behaviours and promote a positive safety culture.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and projects within complex environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of contractors across the Resort, setting expectations and maintaining safety standards.
• Review RAMS, approve RAMS, and administer Permit to Work systems.
• Coordinate traffic management, delivery schedules and site access with project teams.
• Inspect active work areas, monitor compliance and address unsafe practices.
• Investigate safety incidents and drive corrective actions to completion.
