Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a Construction Manager for the Otterbourne Project, reporting to the Project Manager and overseeing HSE, environmental, and sustainability compliance for all delivered construction work. You will lead local delivery teams to meet safety, cost and schedule targets.

Lead supplier performance on safety, time and quality, drive constructability reviews and sign‑offs, and champion waste reduction and low embodied carbon.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in construction or related discipline.
  • APMP or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Extensive experience delivering large-scale construction programmes.
  • Experience in water/wastewater industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage site construction teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Ensure safety, time and quality performance of suppliers and approve RAMS.
  • Lead constructability reviews, project rehearsals and sign‑offs.
  • Drive zero waste goals and reduce embodied carbon in construction activities.
  • Raise contractual and commercial notices in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate long- and short-term resource needs (labour, plant, materials).
  • Ensure strong H&S culture and empower teams to raise safety concerns.
  • Balance standard products with innovative techniques to stay industry-leading.

Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Construction Manager working on our Otterbourne Project.

You will report directly to the Project Manager and your role will include managing Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability with responsibility for managing compliance for all delivered construction work. Managing your local construction delivery team to ensure all construction activities are provided in compliance with the scheme deliverables

Key responsibilities will include
  • Lead and manage site construction teams within designated portfolios to deliver projects within approved budget and to an agreed time frame; facilitate project construction kick off meeting and lead health checks
  • Responsible for the performance of suppliers in relation to Safety, Time and Quality including approving RAMS ensuring they are appropriate and adequate
  • Take the lead with Constructability Reviews, Project Rehearsal and Fit for Assembly sign-off which drives outperformance and innovation where possible
  • Drive a focus on zero waste and reducing embodied carbon within construction activities
  • Ensure that the site teams are raising the relevant contractual and commercial notices to the rest of the Project Team in a timely manner
  • Work with the Lead Construction Manager to establish long term and short term resource needs (labour, plant and materials)
  • Ensure full H&S compliance is achieved where the team feel safe everyday and have the confidence and autonomy to raise safety concerns
  • Look to implement a blend of standard products and innovation techniques which will maintain our position as industry-leaders
