Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead planning, design and delivery of construction projects essential to fusion energy research. You will work with Estates and wider teams to ensure projects meet time, cost and quality targets.

The role requires regular onsite presence (3–5 days a week) and adherence to UKAEA procedures. You will manage budgets, contracts and risks, input into civil, mechanical and electrical designs, and apply BIM Level 2 standards across

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or construction discipline.
• Membership of Chartered Institute of Building or Association for Project Management.
• Proven experience delivering construction projects.
• Experience in publicly funded environments and regulatory procedures.
• Knowledge of BIM Level 2 and CDM Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, design, development and delivery of construction projects in line with the Property Strategy and Development Plan.
• Provide technical input into civil, mechanical and electrical designs for new and existing buildings.
• Coordinate internal and external design and delivery teams for successful outcomes.
• Manage stakeholders with differing requirements and ensure design standards and soft landings applied.
• Develop and maintain building specifications for multipurpose scientific facilities (offices, labs, workshops).
• Manage project budgets, contracts, programmes and performance reporting.
• Identify, manage and report project and organisational risks.
• Apply BIM Level 2 requirements to new-build projects.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and UKAEA procedures.
• Use project and design management systems (ASITE) to support delivery.
