Job summary

GE Vernova’s UK Centre of Excellence is seeking an Automation Engineer to deliver high-quality automation installations for project testing, from requirement capture to commissioning and service support. The role is on-site, five days a week, involving hands-on and office work to ensure safe and cost-effective solutions.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams, perform design reviews, and help drive improvements in processes and tools while complying with security clearances such as UK Eyes

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; background checks and suitability assessments may be required.
• This is a sole UK National and holds, or is eligible to obtain, UK Eyes Only security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Requirement capture and detailed design of the automation system, ensuring maintainability and reliability.
• Integration of software and hardware components into a single application.
• Verification and validation of the system including the power system under test.
• Liaise with other teams, customers and suppliers to facilitate design and documentation.
• Provide maintenance, fault finding, repair, and upgrades as required.
• Perform factory acceptance testing and commissioning per quality procedures.
• Participate in design reviews.
