Job summary

Searchability is seeking a 2nd Line Support Engineer to act as the primary onsite IT presence at a Wembley secondary school. You will deliver day-to-day IT support across a busy campus and provide remote MSP assistance as needed.

The role requires at least 3 years’ IT support experience in UK secondary schools, strong 365 administration, and proficiency with AD, Intune/JAMF, and Windows Server. DBS enhanced clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ IT support experience within a UK secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience supporting Windows Desktop and Windows Server.
• Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
• Experience with Intune and/or JAMF.
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills and confidence supporting non-technical users.
• Experience with MIS, Edulink, smartboards and AV equipment.
• Eligibility to obtain an Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day IT support across a busy secondary school.
• Act as main onsite engineer with remote MSP support.
• Provide 2nd line IT support to staff and students.
• Manage incidents and service requests.
• Support Microsoft 365 and Windows environments.
• Administer Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Manage devices using Intune and/or JAMF.
• Support Windows Server and Hyper-V environments.
• Troubleshoot networking including VLANs, Wi‑Fi and firewalls.
• Support Chromebooks, Apple devices and Windows desktops.
• Maintain school technology including smartboards and AV equipment.
• Work with MIS and Edulink.
• Keep documentation and tickets up to date.
• Build relationships with teaching staff and school leadership.
