Job summary

EarthStream Global seeks an Onshore Substation General Site Manager to act as the onsite Client Representative during the establishment and construction of an HV onshore substation in the UK.

The role requires extensive HV substation site-management experience, strong civil engineering knowledge, and coordination with National Grid and contractor teams. Freelance outside IR35; site-based work in Norfolk, UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
• SMSTS or equivalent safety training required; NEBOSH an advantage.
• Extensive experience as Site Manager on HV substation construction.
• Strong civil engineering knowledge and HV installation/commissioning experience.
• Proficient in English; site-based role at the site location.

Responsibilities

• Act as onsite Client Representative during site establishment and later construction of the Onshore Substation.
• Support HVDC Package Manager during construction; manage all Client site duties.
• Coordinate site-related information between supporting functions within the project.
• Facilitate timely resolution of site issues and mitigation of employer risks via meetings and records.
• Prepare progress, risk and key-decision reports, dashboards and presentations for project leadership; ensure Contractor fulfils Principal Contractor duties under CDM.
• Deliver safe delivery of the project’s onshore electrical transmission system and handover documentation.
