Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking an experienced Site Manager for an onshore HV substation construction project in the Glasgow area. You will oversee development, construction, and handover, ensuring safe delivery and compliance with project requirements.

Key responsibilities include integration of equipment during build, tracking civil engineering activities, and delivering comprehensive as-built documentation and closeout packages to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• SMSTS or equivalent required; NEBOSH qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe delivery of onshore electrical transmission system projects across all phases including development, construction and handover.
• Deliver as-built documentation, commercial closeout and project closeout for associated packages.

Job description

Principal Contractor duties under CDM.Deliverable: safe delivery of the project's onshore electrical transmission system, including continued development, construction, operational handover, commercial closeout and delivery of all as-built documentation for associated packages.

Key Qualifications

• A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent required. High level safety qualifications such as NEBOSH would be an advantage

Must have Qualification / Experience

• Extensive experience as a Site Manager role on HV substation construction projects including the integration of equipment throughout the build construction and installation process.
• A proven track record in civil engineering, and HV substation site construction management
• An excellent understanding of the range of available civil engineering techniques, including HDD with a practical approach to implementation.
• Business proficient in English
