Job summary

Fluor Corp is seeking an Onshore Substation General Site Manager to act as the on-site Client Representative during establishment and construction of an onshore electrical substation and related works. You will support the HVDC Package Manager and coordinate interfaces across site and project teams.

Responsibilities include managing health, safety, environmental, security and pre-handover activities, building strong stakeholder relationships, and delivering handover documentation.

Qualifications

• Extensive Site Management experience on HV substation construction projects.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods, including HDD.
• Business-level English communication skills.
• Site-based role with regular onsite presence required.

Responsibilities

• Act as onsite Client Representative for all onshore substation construction activities.
• Support HVDC Package Manager and manage client site duties under contract.
• Drive timely resolution of site issues, risks, and interfaces through stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee health, safety, environment, security, and pre-handover maintenance activities.
• Develop understanding of project contracts, designs, consent requirements and construction plans.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders, contractors, grid operators, and project leadership.
• Support commissioning and interface planning activities, including coordination with cable and transmission works.
• Prepare progress updates, risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
• Ensure contractor compliance with CDM and Principal Contractor obligations.
• Deliver safe and successful handover, close-out activities, and as-built documentation.
