Job summary

Booth Welsh is recruiting for experienced Instrument & Control Technicians to support a client within the chemical industry. The role involves preventative and corrective maintenance, functional testing of safety systems, and fault finding on an operational plant.

Ideal candidates have an engineering apprenticeship or NVQ, knowledge of ATEX BS EN standards, and experience with instrumentation and control. Start date mid-October 2026 for an 8-week onshore assignment.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship or NVQ equivalent.
• Knowledge of ATEX and BS EN standards for safe equipment installation.
• Documentation in the Maintenance Management System.
• About 3 years of experience with C&I apprenticeship covering instrumentation and control.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, including functional testing of safety systems.
• Fault finding to resolve equipment malfunctions on an operational plant.
• Follow work cards with instrumentation defects and calibrations information.
