Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming primary school in Tees Valley. You will provide one-to-one support during lessons, break times and transitions to help the pupil thrive.

You’ll collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt tasks, use creativity and empathy to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities, and celebrate every achievement. Training and safeguarding resources are provided to all staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in a primary school or supporting SEND is helpful.
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach to supporting learners.
• Strong communication with teachers, parents and staff.
• Attitude, empathy and commitment are valued above all.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to a pupil during lessons, breaktimes and transitions.
• Help create a calm, encouraging and safe learning environment.
• Work with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt learning tasks.
• Use creativity and emotional intelligence to turn moments into learning.
• Celebrate every achievement as part of the pupil’s journey.
