Job summary

Valence School is seeking a compassionate One-to-One Student Support Assistant to provide personalised support for students requiring additional assistance during the school day.

You will help with learning, communication, personal care and development, while promoting independence and wellbeing in a safe, supportive environment for every student.

Valence School supports staff development with fully funded qualifications and a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion across the school.

Qualifications

• Physically capable of supporting students with disabilities and personal care needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with safeguarding awareness.
• Commitment to professional development, including Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare if applicable.
• Willing to follow procedures, maintain safety and uphold British values.
• Patient, resilient, flexible and positive.

Responsibilities

• Support learning, communication, personal care and development in line with care plans.
• Safely assist with medical needs, medication, gastro feeds and health requirements as needed.
• Enable students to join activities and develop life skills.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents to ensure high standards of care.
