Job summary

Valence School in Westerham is seeking Care Support Assistants to help students develop independence in class or residential settings. You will assist with meals, personal care and mobility while supporting learning and safety.

Role involves following care plans, safeguarding, and contributing to student wellbeing. Training including medication administration is provided; part-time posts prorated accordingly.

Qualifications

• Physically able to move, handle and support students safely.
• Willing to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
• Patient, respectful with excellent communication.
• Understands safeguarding and child protection principles.
• Positive, resilient and adaptable to change.
• Desirable: experience in school or residential setting; GCSE English/Maths.

Responsibilities

• Support students in class or residential settings to develop independence.
• Assist with meals, personal care and mobility while maintaining safety.
• Support learning, life skills and activities promoting development.
• Follow student care plans and coordinate with education/residential teams.
• Participate in training including medication and gastrostomy feed administration.
