Job summary

Elmy Hall School in Northwich is seeking a One-to-One Teaching Assistant to provide consistent, supportive presence for pupils, help with engagement, and assist with lessons both individually and in small groups. Experience with SEMH and behaviour support is important as you build trust and boundaries under teacher guidance.

You'll spend 12 months getting to know the pupils, promoting confidence and resilience, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school day within the Polaris network's

Qualifications

• Experience as a teaching assistant or similar support role.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
• Confidence using positive behaviour-management strategies.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above; strong general education.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in small groups to enable engagement and learning.
• Help maintain boundaries and consistent routines under teacher guidance.
• Assist with lessons and classroom organisation.
• Observe progress and communicate findings to teaching staff.
• Contribute to wider school life and extracurricular activities.
