Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester is seeking an oncology dietitian for a 12-month secondment or fixed-term position. You will be part of a large dietetic department, supported by managers and colleagues, contributing to student placements, audit, training and education.

As a specialist oncology dietitian, you will gain experience across diverse cancer types and treatments, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and proton beam therapy, in both inpatients and outpatients.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Recent acute oncology and nutrition support experience including enteral feeding is required.
• Experience with audit/research and ability to critique papers.
• Ability to supervise learners and provide education to staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Support the band 7 dietitian in a clinical area and manage own caseload.
• Rotate in areas such as lung, head and neck, GI, HPB, gynecology, surgery, haematology and acute admissions.
• Nutritionally assess oncology patients using anthropometric, biochemical and dietary data.
• Provide complex dietary advice and lifestyle changes to patients and carers with advanced counselling.
• Attend ward rounds and MDT meetings to advise on nutritional support.
