Qualifications

• Recent acute oncology experience.
• Advanced nutritional support skills including enteral feeding (parenteral feeding preferred).
• Excellent organisation and advanced communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional care and management of oncology patients and oversee caseloads.
• Rotate through lung, upper GI, head and neck, HPB, gynecology, surgery, haematology and acute admissions.
• Plan, organise and prioritise patient-related and professional demands.
• Assess oncology patients using anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary data.
• Deliver complex dietary advice and lifestyle changes with advanced counselling.
• Diagnose malnutrition and liaise with consultants to optimise nutrition interventions.
• Attend ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings to advise on nutritional support.
• Collaborate with nursing, AHPs, catering and other staff to implement dietary prescriptions.
• Prescribe appropriate dietary regimens and monitor treatment plans.
• Initiate and coordinate home enteral feeding when discharge planning requires.
• Refer patients to primary, secondary or tertiary care for monitoring and support.
• Contribute to education, training and departmental standards through CPD and audits.
• Maintain documentation and support departmental research and resources.
