Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Quality Engineer to provide QA and QC expertise for a major Defence project, working in a joint team and supply chain. You will lead QA/QC activities, deploy the Quality Management Plan, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 across multiple sites, including on-site work at the Derby client site.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
• Demonstrable quality engineering experience across multiple projects.
• Auditor qualifications (ISO 9001 Lead/Internal Auditor) preferred.
• NDE/NDT qualifications such as PCN or CSWIP.
• Engineering HNC or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site QA and QC support on client site in Derby for at least three days per week.
• Build relationships with the client, suppliers and site stakeholders.
• Identify and flow down client quality requirements across the supply chain.
• Capture and share learning from experience across the Infrastructure Programme.
• Create and deploy the Quality Management Plan (QMP) and secure input.
• Lead quality investigations, root-cause analysis, and process improvements.
• Track quality risks, non-conformances, and defect notifications.
• Oversee supplier installation, manufacturing, acceptance testing, and releases.
