Job summary

Babcock Plymouth site is seeking an Operation Support Engineer to help coordinate maintenance, refit and repair of Royal Navy warships. You will produce documentation, manage tasks, and work closely with engineers, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure safe, timely delivery of complex activities onboard ships.

This full-time role requires a proactive, safety‑minded professional with marine or defence experience and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, offshore environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting maintenance, repair or refit of complex vessels.
• Ability to work with multiple contractors and stakeholders.
• Must pass BPSS/ Security clearance for the role.
• Ability to perform physical duties onboard ships, including confined spaces.
• Experience with safety documentation and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Create management tasks, work packages and control documents for maintenance activities.
• Write risk assessments and other safety-related documentation.
• Liaise with contractors, customers and stakeholders to coordinate activities.
• Oversee specialist subcontractors working on-site.
• Manage scaffold requests and ensure work is processed within project timescales.
