Babcock International Group is seeking an Operation Support Engineer to support the safe maintenance, repair and refit of Royal Navy warships at our Plymouth, Devon site. You’ll coordinate engineering and operational activities with engineers, subcontractors and project teams to ensure work is planned, documented and delivered safely and effectively. This role offers valuable experience in a complex marine environment within a leading defence organisation.
Qualifications
Experience using Microsoft Office for documentation and coordination.
Knowledge of health and safety principles within an operational/engineering environment.
Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and contractors.
Previous experience within marine, shipbuilding, ship repair or defence environments is advantageous.
Experience in scaffolding, painting, slinging or itinerant trades would be beneficial.
Candidates must be capable of meeting the physical requirements of the role, including work on ships and in confined spaces.
Responsibilities
Create management tasks, work packages and control documentation to support maintenance activities.
Write risk assessments, method statements and other safety-related documentation.
Liaise with contractors, customers and stakeholders to coordinate project activities.
Support oversight and coordination of specialist subcontractors on-site.
Manage scaffold requests and ensure work requirements are processed within project timescales.
