Job summary

Amey is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) team in Gloucestershire. You’ll support delivery of several construction and engineering projects, coordinating on-site activities, contractors and client stakeholders to maintain safety and quality standards.

You will work with Project Managers to monitor progress, manage risks, ensure compliance with health and safety, and contribute to reporting and change management in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision (or equivalent) or QCF Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or equivalent).
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience supporting construction, engineering or facilities management projects.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements within live operational environments.
• Excellent organisation, planning and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating contractors and multiple stakeholders.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
• IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
• First Aid at Work.
• Temporary Works Awareness.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience within nuclear or other highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in successful delivery of multiple concurrent construction and engineering projects.
• Act as Amey's dedicated site presence, coordinating day-to-day project activities and contractor operations.
• Monitor progress against programme, identify and escalate risks, issues and delays.
• Coordinate contractors and supply chain partners to ensure safe, efficient delivery.
• Carry out site inspections, safety observations and quality checks to maintain high standards.
• Review RAMS, permits to work and construction records.
• Support daily briefings, toolbox talks and contractor coordination meetings.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements across all activities.
• Assist with project reporting, documentation, programme updates and performance tracking.
• Support identification and management of project changes, Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Build positive relationships with clients, contractors, designers and the project team.
• Champion safety culture across site activities.
