Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a well-run manufacturing site near Lockerbie. You will handle reactive breakdowns and planned maintenance, maintaining and repairing conveyors, gearboxes and rotating equipment within a safety-conscious team.

The role offers a stable 4 on / 4 off rota with day and night shifts, and an attractive hourly rate. You will be expected to apply mechanical expertise to improve reliability and output across plant machinery.

Qualifications

• Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent required.
• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance required.
• Recent manufacturing/industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Good fault-finding on mechanical systems and rotating equipment.
• Strong H&S mindset (LOTO / safe systems of work).
• Willingness to rotate days/nights on a 4 on / 4 off rota.

Responsibilities

• Rapid fault-finding and repair to minimise downtime.
• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and inspections.
• Maintain/repair conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, drives and rotating equipment.
• Work on pneumatic and hydraulic systems (diagnosis, repair, safe isolation).
• Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, replacements and basic fabrication.
• Complete job cards/CMMS updates and support root cause analysis (RCA).
