Job summary

Escape is seeking a Mechanical Design & Project Engineer for our Rosyth site on a permanent basis. You will adapt existing products to fit customer installations and generate 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOMs while addressing manufacturing and assembly challenges.

You will collaborate with production, purchasing, quality, and suppliers to resolve issues and ensure successful implementation on site. The role emphasizes hands-on CAD work, project support, and practical problem solving.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design or project/engineering roles.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings, assemblies and BOMs.
• Practical understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Adapt existing mechanical products to fit customer installations.
• Produce/modify 2D drawings, 3D models and assemblies.
• Create and maintain accurate engineering BOMs.
• Interpret customer specifications and interfaces.
• Support integration of hydraulic hoses and pipework.
• Investigate manufacturing and assembly issues and resolve them.
• Provide practical engineering support to shop floor and production teams.
• Collaborate with production, purchasing, quality and suppliers.
• Assess component availability and supplier deviations.
