Job summary

Escape Recruitment Services is seeking a Mechanical Design & Project Engineer for an established manufacturer of complex engineered equipment in the United Kingdom. You will adapt established mechanical products, produce drawings, assemblies and BOMs, and support manufacturing through launch.

You will work with cross-functional teams to interpret specs, resolve shop-floor issues and implement design changes, including hydraulic hoses and pipework where relevant.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design and creating detailed drawings and assemblies.
• Ability to interpret specs, dimensions and interfaces.
• Familiar with BOM creation and manufacturing support.
• Experience with hydraulic hoses, pipework and related equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce and modify 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Create assemblies and maintain accurate engineering BOMs.
• Interpret specifications and technical interface information.
• Support integration of hydraulic hoses, pipework and equipment.
• Investigate manufacturing and assembly problems.
• Provide practical engineering support to production.
• Collaborate with purchasing, quality, suppliers and manufacturing teams.
• Assess supplier deviations and NCRs; drive project progress.
