Job summary

Rendall & Rittner is seeking a Maintenance Operative to be the on-site go-to for safe, efficient upkeep of a premium residential tower in Canary Wharf. You will perform routine checks, handle minor repairs, liaise with contractors and support residents to maintain a high-quality living experience.

The role demands hands-on problem solving, a customer-focused approach and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential or hospitality maintenance within high-rise or large mixed-use buildings.
• Familiarity with PPM routines, basic M&E plant checks and safe isolation procedures.
• Confidence using a CAFM system and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Knowledge of health & safety basics, including risk assessments, permits to work and COSHH awareness.
• Experience liaising with contractors and supporting compliance inspections.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily building inspections and action minor repairs.
• Perform PPM tasks including emergency lighting tests and fire alarm checks.
• Undertake basic plumbing, joinery, painting, door and lock adjustments, tiling and patch repairs.
• Monitor plant rooms and common services, escalate faults and support contractors on-site.
• Manage stock and tools, keep maintenance areas tidy and update digital maintenance records.
• Assist onsite management and concierge with resident queries and incident response.
