Job summary

QinetiQ in Farnborough is recruiting an IT Engineer to join a skilled team delivering IT solutions and project support on-site. The role involves hardware/software builds, installation and integration, and mentoring junior colleagues.

You will engage with customers and stakeholders to deliver complex IT tasks under the guidance of a technical lead. The position is full-time, 37 hours per week, on-site at Farnborough, with a salary between £51,975 and £57,750 depending on experience, plus

Qualifications

• First degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent on the job experience.
• Broad IT knowledge across client/server infrastructures, networks and virtualization.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to defence-related projects.

Responsibilities

• Delivering hardware/software builds and system installation and integration
• Lead small projects or parts of larger ones to deliver IT solutions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers
• Produce technical outputs such as presentations, docs, test plans and user guides
• Mentor junior colleagues
• Take on increasingly complex tasks via existing practices
