Job summary

RecXchange – The Recruiter Xchange is recruiting an experienced HSE Advisor to join a large 24/7 manufacturing operation in Essex. This is a hands-on, site-based role supporting operational management with health, safety and environmental performance across a busy heavy industrial environment.

The successful HSE Advisor will drive site safety strategy, improve standards, support incident investigations, manage occupational health and environmental risks, and work closely with operational teams

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation
• Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
• Experience in incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Knowledge of COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, Working at Height and CDM processes
• Experience managing contractors and permit-to-work systems
• Environmental compliance and permits understanding

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of the site HSE strategy and safety improvement plan
• Provide practical HSE advice and challenge to operational management
• Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
• Support incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Develop and monitor corrective and preventative actions
• Lead site HSE meetings and risk working groups
• Coordinate monitoring for dust, noise, vibration and other hazards
• Coach supervisors and managers on HSE performance
• Maintain emergency response plans and coordinate site drills
• Manage environmental compliance including waste, water and noise
