Job summary

Andrews Recruitment Group Limitted is recruiting an experienced HSE Advisor to a large 24/7 manufacturing operation in Essex. This is a hands-on, site-based role supporting operational management with health, safety and environmental performance across a busy heavy industrial environment.

The successful HSE Advisor will help drive site safety strategy, improve standards, support incident investigations, manage occupational health and environmental risks, and work closely with operational teams

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in a site-based or multi-site HSE role.
• Experience within manufacturing, heavy industry or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation.
• Solid understanding of COSHH, PUWER, LOLER and CDM.
• Experience managing contractors and permit-to-work systems.
• Experience supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of occupational health surveillance and environmental compliance.
• Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of the site HSE strategy and safety improvement plan.
• Provide practical HSE advice and challenge to operational management.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
• Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Develop and monitor corrective and preventative actions.
• Lead site HSE meetings and risk working groups.
• Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems and external audits.
• Manage contractor safety, inductions and permit-to-work arrangements.
• Coordinate monitoring for dust, noise, vibration and other occupational hazards.
• Maintain emergency response plans and coordinate site drills.
• Coach supervisors and operational leaders on HSE performance.
• Manage environmental compliance including waste, dust, water and noise.
