Job summary

Avantor, Inc. is seeking a skilled maintenance engineer to deliver routine and reactive maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, with emphasis on HPLC and uHPLC systems across Manufacturing and R&D labs.

You will plan and execute maintenance for equipment such as fume hoods, glasswashers, and benchtop systems, maintain accurate service records, and support calibration, IQ/OQ/PQ activities and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years repairing laboratory equipment and HPLC instrumentation.
• ISO 9001 compliant maintenance records.
• Awareness of ISO 17025.
• Experience with chromatography instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, UHPLC).
• COSHH, PUWER and risk assessments awareness.

Responsibilities

• Own routine and reactive maintenance of HPLC and uHPLC systems, ensuring performance and compliance.
• Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance for lab equipment including fume hoods and glasswashers.
• Prioritize interventions to maximise uptime and minimize production disruption.
• Maintain accurate service records and support lifecycle management.
• Develop and improve maintenance procedures, SOPs and best practice documentation.
