Job summary

PerkinElmer in Cambridge is seeking a General Lab Engineer to manage day-to-day instrument support at a client site. You will liaise with PKI Planners, TLS Engineers and the Lead Scheduler to deliver high-quality engineering support for laboratory equipment including balances, centrifuges, incubators and related devices.

The role demands experience across diverse scientific equipment, strong communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining health

Qualifications

• Technical engineering qualification or apprenticeship completed.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and field service support.
• Proficient in MS Office for documenting service activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day laboratory instrument support at client site.
• Diagnose faults on complex lab equipment and collaborate for solutions.
• Plan maintenance and commissioning work with safety and cost control.
• Prepare operating procedures, change controls and SOPs as needed.
• Manage spares availability and support contract budgeting.
