Job summary

Clancy is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support our Southern Water contract. This hands‑on role involves working on-site, building relationships with operational teams and driving safe working practices across Kent and West Sussex.

You will inspect sites, provide practical safety advice, support investigations, and contribute to tenders and planning. A NEBOSH Certificate (General/Construction) and Tech IOSH membership are essential, plus a valid UK driving licence and travel

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate is essential and Tech IOSH membership (or working towards Graduate IOSH).
• Sound working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and its application in construction, utilities, water or civil engineering.
• Full UK driving licence required; ability to travel across Kent and West Sussex; flexible hours to support operations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations.
• Provide professional Health & Safety advice and support to colleagues at all levels.
• Advise operational teams, supporting safety objectives and promoting best practice.
• Support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending improvements.
• Contribute Health & Safety input into tenders, bids and operational planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve Health, Safety and Wellbeing systems, processes and performance.
• Promote proactive hazard reporting and positive safety behaviours across teams.
• Support compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and company procedures.
