Job summary

Boeing Defence UK is seeking a Systems Support Engineer to provide on-site support for the Gladiator training system at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire. You will initialise configurations, monitor performance, diagnose faults, and deploy software using controlled pipelines during exercises with MoD staff.

The role requires UK security clearance eligibility, fundamentals in deployment and networking, and strong communication within a military environment.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for UK SC Security Clearance required.
• Safety and engineering discipline with commitment to safe practices.
• Willingness to work in a military environment and follow security procedures.
• Familiarity with source control concepts and workflows (Git useful).
• Basic networking knowledge and common protocols.
• Understanding deployment pipelines and change control processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily on-site support for the Gladiator system at RAF Waddington.
• Initialise configurations and maintain operational readiness; diagnose faults.
• Deploy configurations using established deployment pipelines and change control processes.
• Respond to user issues promptly with practical, timely solutions.
• Liaise with third-party suppliers and Boeing teams to resolve faults.
• Review and improve operational processes and technical documentation.
• Occasionally travel to remote sites and undertake shift work as required.
