Job summary

Sentry Ltd is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join our team and support construction and utility projects across the UK. This hands-on role involves working on site with soils, contractors and landowners to ensure responsible delivery.

You will monitor works, conduct site inspections and help manage soil handling, records, and risk controls. Travel across the UK and collaboration with diverse teams are essential to success.

Qualifications

• A degree, or working towards one, in agriculture, environmental management, soil science, construction or similar.
• An established and practical agricultural knowledge.
• Soil handling and management knowledge.
• Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with people at all levels, including clients, landowners, agents and the site management team.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office.
• A willingness to travel to sites across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction and infrastructure works on site.
• Carry out site inspections, focusing on soils, earthworks and reinstatement.
• Complete Records of Condition, from baseline surveys through to sign-off.
• Check contractor work against Soil Management Plans and method statements.
• Manage risks around soil handling, trafficking and compaction.
• Be able to work flexibly. There will be occasions when you may be required to work additional hours to ensure that site operations run smoothly, safely and efficiently.
• Be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
• Oversee soil stripping, storage and reinstatement.
• Monitor ground conditions and provide practical input on site.
• Support communication with landowners, agents and contractors.
• Attend site meetings and keep clear records.
• Help with reporting, mapping and project documentation.
