Job summary
Contract Scotland is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join a major infrastructure project near Edinburgh/East Lothian, supporting environmental compliance on site.
The role involves delivering practical environmental guidance across civils, groundworks and cabling works, and promoting a strong environmental culture on site. Candidates should have hands-on experience in construction environmental management and a valid UK driving licence.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction or civil engineering environmental roles.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation applicable to onshore projects.
- Experience conducting site inspections and audits.
- Ability to communicate with site teams and stakeholders.
- Full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day environmental advice and support to site teams.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of the project's Environmental Management Plan.
- Carry out environmental inspections, audits and site monitoring.
- Identify environmental risks and support mitigation measures.
- Monitor compliance with environmental legislation, permits and project requirements.
- Support management of waste, water, pollution prevention and environmental controls.
- Assist with environmental reporting and records.
