Job summary

Amey is seeking an on-site Electrical Maintenance Technician for the MoJ account at HMP Frankland. You will deliver planned and reactive electrical work, diagnose faults, perform repairs and testing, and maintain records to ensure safety and compliance across critical prison infrastructure.

You'll operate Monday to Friday with weekend rota shifts, contributing to safety and reliability in a high-security environment.

Qualifications

• Essential electrical installation qualification.
• BS7671 18th Edition or willing to upskill.
• Good knowledge of electrical maintenance and fault finding.
• Understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance to keep prison facilities safe and functional.
• Diagnose faults and resolve issues across electrical systems with minimal disruption.
• Carrying out electrical repairs, replacements, inspections, and testing per BS7671.
• Maintain accurate records and associated documentation for safety and compliance.
• Support safety culture through Safe Systems of Work and risk assessments.
• Assist with escort duties and support authorised/ responsible persons when needed.
