Job summary

Amey is recruiting an On-Site Electrician for HMP Garth in Leyland. The role is a permanent site-based position with 39 hours weekly, 8am-5pm, and a 1 in 4 weekend rota plus a 15% allowance. The site offers free parking, an on-site gym, and catering facilities.

You will work on a MoJ contract with no travel between sites and steady hours. The ideal candidate will have Level 2 Electrical qualification, 18th Edition (17th acceptable with training), and experience in electrical maintenance and

Qualifications

• Experience with Planned & reactive electrical maintenance.
• Ability to fault find and repair electrical systems.
• Capable of minor works and replacements.
• Knowledge of BS7671 testing and inspections.
• Work independently and safely in a high-security site.

£30,866 - £36,135 | Permanent

We're recruiting a qualified Electrician for a permanent, single-site role at HMP Garth.

This is steady work on a long-term MoJ contract – no travelling between sites, consistent hours and job security.

Key duties

• Planned & reactive electrical maintenance
• Fault finding and repairs
• Minor works and like-for-like replacements
• Testing and inspections to BS7671
• Ensuring systems are safe, compliant and operational

Requirements

• Level 2 Electrical qualification
• 18th Edition (17th considered with training)
• Electrical maintenance experience
• Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
• Able to work independently
• Basic IT skills

Fire Alarm/CCTV Experience Desirable But Not Essential.

Prison security clearance including Standard DBS required – full support provided by Amey.
