Job summary

Stoneham Construction Ltd is seeking a Site Manager to lead on refurbishment and civils projects, managing day-to-day site activities, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring safety, quality and programme delivery.

You will communicate with clients and internal teams, uphold SMSTS and First Aid requirements, drive reporting and site inspections, and maintain a strong safety-first culture across the site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Agent on construction projects, ideally with refurbishment works and civils.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and practice (SMSTS, First Aid or equivalent).
• Must hold relevant tickets and certifications such as SMSTS and First Aid appropriate for site management.
• Strong technical construction knowledge with ability to interpret drawings, specifications and methods.
• Computer literate with experience using site and project management software, plus good MS Office skills.
• Trade experience preferred but not essential.
• Driving License is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead on site execution of construction projects and manage day-to-day site activities.
• Communicate effectively with client, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and site inspections.
• Monitor progress against programme, budgets and quality standards.
• Coordinate subcontractor work, materials and site logistics.
• Prepare and deliver regular reports on progress, issues and mitigation plans.
• Maintain all site documentation (permits, records, safety logs) accurately.
• Act as main point of contact for project, supply chain and stakeholders.
• Promote and enforce a safety-first culture on site.
