Job summary

NICHOLLS ENGINEERING SYSTEMS LIMITED in the Greater Coventry Area is seeking a CNC Programmer / Setter for milling and turning. This on-site, full-time role involves programming, setting up tooling, fixtures, and materials, and optimizing programs to meet tolerances and surface finishes.

You will read engineering drawings, operate CNC controls (Fanuc/Siemens), use CAM software, inspect parts, document setups and production data, and work with engineering and production teams to reduce downtime

Qualifications

• Strong CNC programming and milling/turning skills.
• Experience with tooling, fixtures and workholding.
• Ability to read technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with CNC controls (Fanuc/Siemens) and CAM software.
• Precise engineering background with close tolerances.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and routine machine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines for milling and turning operations.
• Set up machines with tooling, fixtures, and materials.
• Optimize machining programs and perform test runs.
• Monitor production and adjust parameters for tolerances and finishes.
• Inspect components to ensure quality standards.
• Maintain documentation of setups, programs, and production data.
