Job summary

Apple Technical Recruitment is working with a leading family-owned main contractor to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a flagship New Build Education project in Cambridgeshire, within a 1-hour radius of Peterborough.

You will join an on-site commercial team and work with the Senior QS to gain hands-on experience in sub-contractor procurement, measurements, cost reporting and valued progression to a Quantity Surveyor.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of commercial experience within a Main Contractor environment.
• Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or related construction management qualification (or working towards one).
• Excellent numerical abilities and strong communication with a proactive, collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with sub-contractor enquiries, package procurement, and tender analysis.
• Conducting on-site measurement, site visits, and valuations of ongoing work.
• Helping manage package variations, cost reporting, and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assisting with the agreement of final accounts and sub-contract payments.

Education

Degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or related construction management qualification
